New Philips mice and keyboards fight dirt on their own

Five new additions to Philips peripherals for desktops and laptops. Among their main features, the manufacturer notes improved ergonomic properties and the use of glossy surfaces, which, according to the designers’ intention, should prevent contamination of devices.

Featured products include a wireless laptop mouse (SPM8713), two wireless desktop mice (SPM7711 and SPM4701), a wired laser mouse (SPM4700), and a keyboard and wireless mouse set (SPT5701). All mentioned mice are equipped with scroll wheels that respond not only to movements in the longitudinal direction, but also in the lateral direction.

SPM8713 uses soft rubber inserts for improved grip and comfort over extended periods of use. This mouse features Philips proprietary dual laser sensor technology. SPM8713 resolution is 1600 dpi. Thanks to the use of special energy saving techniques, the declared runtime before battery replacement is one year.

The SPM7711 mouse (pictured) resembles the SPM8713 in many ways, but is aimed at desktop users. Wireless mouse SPM4701, according to the manufacturer, can work on one battery for up to 7 months, and for communication with a PC, it uses a radio channel at a frequency of 2.4 GHz. The SPM4700 laser sensor has a resolution of 1000 dpi. SPT5701 kit consists of a liquid-resistant keyboard and a wireless mouse with a sensor with a resolution of 1000 dpi.
