PureDepth and Samsung unveil the world’s largest MLD display
Future-proof display company PureDepth – it was they who introduced multi-layer display (MLD) technology – and renowned LCD panel maker Samsung showcased a 46-inch display that uses MLD technology. It is claimed to be the largest display of its kind ever made. The novelty gives an idea of what the screens of TVs, computer monitors and information boards may become in the near future.
The monitor was shown to the participants of the SID 2021 (Society for Information Display) conference.
PureDepth MLD technology is built on a multi-layer, three-dimensional (using the real depth between two or more LCD panels) structure, allowing users to simultaneously see several different images on a single monitor. According to the developers, PureDepth creates a realistic three-dimensional effect, increases the information content of displays, allows the operator to perceive data faster and more fully.
By the way, another three-dimensional display – 32-inch Miracube G320S – was recently presented by Pavonine.
