The new specification Battery Charging 1.0 defines the standard way to draw current from a charger or PC. One of the important points outlined in the specification concerns a mechanism that allows a portable device to determine which power source it is connected to: an AC adapter; host or hub with increased load capacity; to a regular host or hub.
