Microchip expands the built-in memory of microcontrollers with an LCD control unit
Microchip Technology, a microcontroller and analog semiconductor company, has unveiled six new models in its 8-bit PIC family with an integrated LCD module. The PIC18F85J90 series features twice the flash and random access memory of its predecessors in 64-pin and 80-pin packages. These products are designed for embedded control systems. Increased memory capacity allows for additional functionality.
The module for connecting an LCD screen, which is part of the PIC18F85J90, is designed for software contrast adjustment, which allows you to adapt the screen luminescence level to ambient lighting conditions. Other important features of microcontrollers are the presence of an internal generator and low power consumption.
- Core clock speed – up to 40 MHz with a supply voltage of 3 V;
- Flash memory capacity – from 8 to 32 Kb;
- The amount of RAM – up to 2 Kb;
- Seven power saving modes;
- LCD interface – 4 multiplexed outputs on 48 segments (up to 192 graphic display pixels);
- Analog-to-digital converter – 10-bit, 12-channel, speed – 100 thousand counts per second;
