The world’s largest flexible array of photosensors “printed” by NANOIDENT specialists

NANOIDENT Technologies AG reports that it has produced the world’s largest photosensor array using Printed Semiconductor technology. The product is intended for use in industry, medicine and security systems.

For quite some time working on the technology of applying semiconductor structures to the surface of a substrate using a process similar to the printing process, the company was able to manufacture an array of photosensors on a flexible plastic surface. Due to the peculiarities of the technology, the developers of the final designs will be relieved of the need to complicate their designs by adding expensive optical filters.

The array is based on the NANOIDENT SEMICONDUCTOR 2 platform.0, which can be used for other products using “printed semiconductors”. An array of photosensors – devices that convert light into electrical signals, is formed by applying thin layers of special “ink”, having the properties of a conductor and a semiconductor, on a thin plastic substrate. The dimensions of the array are 18×12 cm, but this is not the limit – according to the company, using the same technology, it is possible to produce arrays of photosensors with dimensions of 50×50 cm and more.

The novelty is already available to the company’s OEM partners.
